The More is Better Myth 🦄

Hi Reader,

The pervasive belief that more content is better is enough to make me kick walls (except I would stub my toe and that is the absolute worst). Post more, share more, do more, more, more, more... No one can keep up and goal posts keep getting moved.

But this couldn't be further from the truth.

Quality, not quantity, is the key to successful marketing.

Why is less more?

  • Relevance: High-quality content marketing that directly addresses your audience's needs and pain points is far more effective than generic, mass-produced content. People want real connections with real voices.
  • Engagement: Well-crafted, informative, and engaging content captures attention and drives interest. Pique curiosity, shift perspectives, surprise people with a new idea.
  • Credibility: Consistent, high-quality content marketing establishes your brand (and you are one, even if, like me, you feel uncomfortable with that reality) as an authority in your industry.

Once, a client of mine implemented a measured, achievable, strategic approach of creating one high-quality article per month. They new they could actually do that and didn't want to set themselves up to fail to reach a more aggressive goal. Despite the lower volume, this focused strategy resulted in:

  • Increased website traffic
  • Higher quality leads
  • Improved brand reputation

Who doesn't want results like that? And it's doable! It avoids that awful more, more, more hamster wheel of marketing.

When you understand your audience's challenges and goals, and create content that genuinely helps them, you'll see a significant return on your investment.

It's about quality, not quantity.

Remember: Effective marketing isn't about churning out content. It's about creating content that resonates, connects, and drives results.
