The "TL;DR" myth and how AI actually reads your site

Hello Reader,

There’s a popular SEO rumor floating around that you need to put bulleted "TL;DR" summary boxes at the top of every blog post so AI crawlers (the bots software like Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude use to "read" websites) and search engines can understand it.

It’s completely false.

Modern Large Language Models (LLMs) can easily parse and comprehend 5,000 words of full text in seconds. They don't need a shortcut.

What AI engines are actually looking for is Information Gain: original insights, real-world client proof, and answers to nuanced buyer objections that an algorithm couldn't invent on its own.

If your content just rehashes standard industry definitions, search engines flag it as "commodity content" and move on.

On Wednesday, October 7, I’m hosting a 60-minute Pay-What-You-Want live workshop where we’ll break down:

  1. What search engines and AI models actually want from your core pages.
  2. Why AI will never understand buyer psychology or sales friction.
  3. The 3 simple, non-technical steps to future-proof your search traffic.

Join me live at 2:30 PM Pacific. Replays will be sent to all registrants.

Talk soon,

Sarah
