You're Not Annoying—Promise 🤔
Hello Reader, A couple weeks ago I had a strategy session with a new client and they mentioned that they were disappointed that I didn't run Summer of SEO this year. To which my brain made a giant record scratch noise. y see, I'm in middle of Summer of SEO, I've got a great cadre of folks in this year's cohort, and the program is better than ever. I sent—what felt to me, at least—a zillion emails, including to the person who said this to me. I posted on the socials, despite dreading firing up Instagram, I did all the things. And yet, someone who wanted to do the program missed out. Meanwhile, back in May, I was super stressed out because I saw how my list was hemorrhaging subscribers because of my promotion of the program (I have thoughts on this I'll compile in another newsletter) and I truly believed I was being annoying. Now, if I'd been using my analytical mind when fretting about this, I'd know that it's not uncommon for buyers to take 12-15 contacts to even make a yes/no buying decision, and that it's totally okay for people to unsubscribe. But, like anyone, I worry. And it made me wonder how many other people missed out on this because I actually worried about being annoying and didn't send a couple of additional emails. There's no way of really knowing, but I hope you remember my story the next tine you hesitate to promote your thing because you don't want to be annoying. I know I will. Onward & upward, Sarah |
